Senior Engineering Lead - Business Onboarding

• Join the Business Onboarding team, which guides businesses through setting up their Wise account and resolving their first international money needs. • Make that journey clear, easy, and delightful for every business customer. • Lead a team of talented engineers spread across multiple locations. • Collaborate daily with product managers, data analysts, and designers to improve onboarding flows and processes. • Make those flows faster, more intuitive, and more scalable over time. • Stay very close to the tech and product, setting high standards for quality and leading by example. • Work from London on a hybrid basis.

• Bring strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP languages, working in a Java codebase. • Work across modern technology stacks including REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines. • Complete technical interviews to demonstrate that knowledge. • Bring proven experience leading and mentoring software engineers, and enjoy helping others grow. • Bring a strong product and customer mindset, with experience building customer-facing products. • Build and work with distributed, high scalability systems and microservices architectures. • Articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Work effectively with cross-functional peers including designers, product managers, and analysts.

• Bring experience building great customer onboarding experiences in any domain. • Bring experience working on B2B products. • Work fluently with modern AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, covering prompting, context structuring, skills and automations, and effective AI delegation. • Scale those AI practices across a team while keeping quality high. • Apply for just one Wise role, the one you are most excited about, as duplicate applications requiring the same assessment are automatically closed.

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of driven engineers across multiple locations, supporting their growth and empowering them to do their best work. • Work with the Product Manager and your team to shape the roadmap and set the technical and product vision. • Make sure the team delivers on product goals in a robust and scalable way. • Set the team up to succeed by keeping them well-resourced, planning effectively, and able to commit to their roadmap. • Own the health and productivity of your engineers, building a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with other engineering leads across Wise so your team’s work aligns with the wider technical strategy. • Own the hiring, growth, and development of your team and its impact at Wise.
