Technical Program Manager, Data Operations

Posted on 28 July 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Be the delivery engine behind Wayve's data and annotation operations, turning a high-variance pipeline of requests into predictable, high-quality delivery. • Own requests end-to-end — intake, definition, estimation, scheduling, execution, and QA — working across data science, ML, engineering, and external annotation suppliers. • Act as a force multiplier, helping teams move faster, more effectively, and with purpose.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have approximately 3+ years in program, delivery, or operations coordination such as TPM, project/program coordinator, or similar, with a bias for action and reliable delivery within a defined scope. • Have strong stakeholder management skills and comfort with ambiguity, creating clarity from underspecified asks and staying neutral and constructive when priorities compete. • Be technically fluent enough to coordinate, comfortable working with engineers and data science/ML and reasoning about data and pipelines. • Bring structure without slowing things down through proactive risk and issue management, escalating early with clear options. • Be a clear, frequent communicator keeping many parties aligned with timely, tailored updates. • Be collaborative, influencing without authority and building trust across teams and suppliers. • Have a growth mindset, open to feedback and always improving how the work gets done. • Think in systems, reasoning about how parts of a complex system fit together and how changes ripple across areas. • Be product-minded, focusing on outcomes and the people programmes serve rather than just tracking activity.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience in data operations, annotation/labelling workflows, or external vendor/supplier management. • Be comfortable with Jira or similar and with workflow automation. • Have exposure to ML/data pipelines, autonomy, or robotics.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Understand each ask, confirm it is complete, align on the goal and success criteria, and identify missing inputs before work starts. • Coordinate estimation with engineering and data science/ML, facilitate trade-offs, and push back on unrealistic asks. • Structure and sequence tickets and coordinate external suppliers to set annotation work up for success. • Keep work moving with clear status updates, risk and issue tracking, blocker removal, a visible path to green, and well-aligned escalations across internal teams and partners. • Onboard, support, and troubleshoot Wayve's internal self-serve users across the whole annotation tool chain. • Own day-to-day coordination with external annotation suppliers including onboarding, label guides, task launch, QA, and delivery tracking. • Improve intake, ticketing, and reporting including automation, while owning the judgement, negotiation, and unblocking that cannot be automated.
