Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Ops

• Take deep ownership of Wayve’s model development cycle, which runs through multiple complex training phases that each build on the last. • Understand how models are created from start to finish across every training phase. • Set and enforce the standard of each release gate along that journey, making sure every training phase is properly validated before the next begins. • Drive technical excellence across Wayve’s ML delivery pipelines. • Review release content, identify bottlenecks, and partner with platform teams so tooling meets delivery needs. • Work with CI/CD teams to adapt workflows and streamline model delivery. • Work with evaluation teams to keep methods reliable, spotting gaps and driving new evaluation methodology. • Take on a high-trust, high-visibility role where the release process directly protects the model baseline and mistakes carry real on-road and reputational consequences. • Work hybrid from the London office, combining time in offices and workshops with working from home.

• Think in full systems, with experience introducing operational processes that build engineering excellence. • Bring strong MLOps, model registry, and ML lifecycle experience. • Bring deep technical depth in ML training. • Understand ML code infrastructure and best practices, including PyTorch, TensorRT, quantisation, and model deployment. • Bring strong CI/CD and GitHub Actions experience. • Communicate strongly and work with a collaborative mindset. • Be based in London for this hybrid, full-time role.
