Full-Stack Software Engineer, Model Development Platform

• Join Wayve’s Model Development Platform team and build the applications and services behind the development and testing of its autonomous driving models. • Build systems that help researchers and engineers manage workflows across data, model training, experiment scheduling, evaluation, and on-road testing. • Work across the full stack, creating intuitive web applications alongside the scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that power them. • Own significant technical areas from understanding user needs through to implementation, deployment, observability, and production support. • Stay hands-on while taking on meaningful technical leadership, influencing decisions and shaping architectural direction within the team. • Mentor less-experienced engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and pairing while still shipping production code yourself. • Take on broader architectural decisions and lead complex, multi-quarter initiatives at the Staff level. • Work hybrid from the London office.

• Bring strong experience designing, building, and operating production web applications across frontend and backend systems. • Work with modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, Python, Flask, or FastAPI, or comparable frameworks and languages. • Understand system design, API design, data modelling, asynchronous workflows, automated testing, and distributed-system fundamentals. • Build services that are scalable, secure, reliable, observable, and performant. • Show a track record of taking significant features or services from problem definition and technical design through to implementation, deployment, and production operation. • Lead technical discussions, influence engineering decisions, and establish effective design patterns. • Support other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and practical guidance. • Work effectively with engineering, product, research, and operational stakeholders, translating complex requirements into practical solutions. • Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to build alignment across teams. • Be based in London for this hybrid role.
