Forensics Engineer

• Join the Detectives team within the Model Integration and Release group and investigate issues arising across the full Wayve AV stack. • Identify root causes efficiently, test solutions thoroughly, and provide actionable insight that improves overall AV performance. • Sit at the heart of performance improvement, spotting systemic issues in the end-to-end stack of Wayve’s AV vehicles. • Work cross-functionally with hardware and software engineers, roboticists, platform developers, model development, and operational teams. • Operate comfortably with limited information, stay outside your comfort zone, and let facts and data drive your conclusions. • Bring people with you as you work towards an answer, building strong working relationships across teams. • Work hybrid from the London office, with core working hours so you can set the schedule that works for you and your team.

• Bring 3+ years working with complex systems for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or comparable engineered systems. • Bring excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex issues within robotics and AI systems. • Think in systems and investigate across the full stack, spanning hardware, software, and models. • Design real-world experiments that prove or disprove hypotheses. • Explain complex technical problems clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Write Python confidently for data analysis and a wide variety of analytic scripting use cases, using AI tools to work more efficiently. • Show a track record of influencing team and company direction through your findings. • Stay safety-conscious, alert to when an issue carries safety implications and comfortable raising it. • Be based in London for this hybrid, full-time role.

• Triage on-road data and run deep dives into recurring issues, identifying fleet-wide patterns to pinpoint root causes across the robot, model, or software. • Analyse data and communicate insights clearly, using dashboards and visualisations to make complex issues easy to act on. • Work closely with engineering, model development, operations, and safety teams, including taking rides in the vehicles, and partner with system owners through to resolution. • Develop automated workflows and investigation playbooks that improve turnaround time and enable faster testing cycles. • Use simulation and other offline tools to reproduce and debug issues, minimising the need for fleet resources. • Provide investigative and systems engineering support across a broad range of problems, from new vehicle platforms to emerging programmes and release testing. • Investigate on-road incidents to establish what happened and why, feeding lessons back to teams and strengthening the wider safety culture.
