Unity Technical Artist, Event Pipeline

• Join VRChat as a Unity Technical Artist for the Event Pipeline, working fully remotely from anywhere in the world. • Help ship new 3D immersive events and content to the VRChat community reliably and at a high quality bar. • Work at the intersection of art and engineering, hands-on in Unity and writing tools and scripts. • Own and evolve the end-to-end Unity content pipeline for live ops assets. • Partner closely with artists, designers and engineers so content ships without surprises. • Help the team scale content volume through 2026.

• Bring 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist, Tools Artist or similar role, or equivalent shipped work. • Work deeply and comfortably in Unity, shipping real-time 3D content that performs well. • Write scripts, most likely in C#, and show tools or automation that helped teams move faster. • Understand 3D fundamentals such as meshes, materials, textures, lighting and optimisation. • Think in systems and pipelines, designing guardrails that prevent recurring failures. • Communicate clearly across art, design and engineering. • Overlap with U.S. time zones for team collaboration.

• Bring experience building Unity editor tooling, import automation or asset validation pipelines. • Know the VRChat creator toolchain, including the VRChat SDK and Creator Companion. • Show experience building VRChat world interactivity with Udon or UdonSharp. • Know VRChat avatar components such as PhysBones and Contacts, plus performance best practices. • Bring experience optimising content across PC and mobile hardware tiers. • Show experience supporting live ops or high-cadence content publishing.

• Own and evolve the end-to-end Unity content pipeline for live ops 3D props and updates. • Implement and validate assets in Unity, including prefabs, materials, shaders, collisions, LODs and lighting. • Build tools, scripts and automation in C# and Udon that reduce manual work and prevent errors. • Create quality gates such as asset validation checks, naming conventions and performance budgets. • Debug content and pipeline issues with engineers and artists. • Work with Product Design and Creators partners to meet the intended user experience. • Document workflows so the whole team can move faster.
