Senior AI Engineer

• Join Typeform’s AI Engineering team in a fully remote role open to candidates in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Spain, or the Netherlands. • Design, build, and operate the systems behind Typeform’s AI products. • Work across generative AI applications, enterprise RAG systems, agentic workflows, model evaluation, and ML pipelines. • Own the journey from experimentation to production, including evaluation, infrastructure, deployment, observability, and reliability. • Turn ideas and prototypes into secure, scalable production systems used by customers. • Help define Typeform’s technical standards for developing, evaluating, deploying, and monitoring AI. • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Analytics teams.

• Bring at least 4 years of experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production. • Bring strong Python and software engineering skills. • Build production services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI. • Bring practical experience developing generative AI applications with LLMs, RAG, tool use, or agentic systems. • Work with frameworks such as PyTorch, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies. • Bring a strong understanding of enterprise RAG, including chunking, embeddings, retrieval, reranking, evaluation, and monitoring. • Create automated evaluations for generative AI applications. • Bring experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices. • Use services such as AWS SageMaker or AWS Bedrock. • Bring experience with Kafka, vector databases, or other real-time and high-dimensional data technologies. • Manage machine learning workflows using MLflow. • Monitor production systems with tools such as Datadog or OpenSearch. • Balance quality, speed, reliability, scalability, and cost when making technical decisions. • Communicate clearly and collaborate well with Product, Engineering, and Data teams. • Be based in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Spain, or the Netherlands.

• Bring experience working in a B2B SaaS product company. • Use orchestration tools such as Airflow or Argo Workflows. • Bring familiarity with SQL, Spark, Snowflake, or other data processing technologies. • Build systems that combine structured data, unstructured data, and generative AI. • Bring experience in AI security, privacy, responsible AI, prompt injection protection, or data leakage prevention. • Improve the latency and cost of AI systems operating at scale.

• Design, build, and deploy generative AI capabilities across Typeform’s products. • Develop applications using LLMs, RAG, vector search, and agentic systems. • Build services and APIs that let product teams integrate AI into customer experiences. • Turn prototypes into reliable production systems with clear performance and quality measures. • Design and operate ML services and workflows using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. • Build batch and real-time pipelines using technologies such as Kafka and Airflow. • Design vector database solutions for retrieval, recommendations, personalisation, and semantic search. • Manage experiments, model versions, registries, and deployments with MLflow. • Build automated evaluation pipelines and benchmarks covering accuracy, relevance, fairness, latency, and cost. • Evaluate retrieval strategies, including chunking, embeddings, context selection, and reranking. • Monitor AI systems in production and create safeguards that protect customer data. • Establish reusable patterns and technical standards for building, evaluating, and releasing AI systems. • Guide teams on decisions about models, frameworks, infrastructure, performance, and cost. • Work with Data Scientists to turn experiments and models into reliable production services. • Share technical knowledge, support other engineers, and help shape the direction of AI at Typeform.
