💼 What you will do

• Play a key leadership role in delivering complex ecological projects, providing strategic technical guidance, and driving business development initiatives. • Shape the direction of Tyler Grange's ecology offering while working a four-day week at full pay in a supportive and engaging workplace. • Act as Project Director on large or complex projects with accountability for delivery, quality, and client satisfaction.

📋 Job Requirements

• Hold strong academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences. • Be a full member of CIEEM, with MCIEEM or working towards Chartership preferred. • Demonstrate extensive understanding of legislative and planning policy frameworks. • Hold advanced survey skills including UK Habitat Classification and protected species surveys. • Have significant experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and local planning authorities. • Communicate excellently in verbal and written form with the ability to influence and advise at a senior level. • Deliver complex projects on time and within budget with exceptional project management skills. • Bring proven experience in mentoring and developing team members. • Show a strong track record of business development and securing projects. • Hold a full UK driving licence.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Hold one or more Protected Species Licences. • Be working towards or hold Chartered Ecologist status. • Bring experience with Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments and the latest BNG metric. • Have experience acting as Project Director on high-value or multi-discipline schemes. • Show experience working collaboratively across landscape and arboricultural disciplines. • Demonstrate experience with Habitats Regulations Assessments for complex schemes.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Act as Project Director on large or complex projects with accountability for delivery, quality, and client satisfaction. • Lead and oversee ecological project teams across a diverse portfolio. • Manage projects and liaise with clients on high-value and complex schemes. • Carry out Preliminary Ecology Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments. • Deliver Protected Species Surveys, Licensing, and Mitigation Strategies. • Review, quality assure, and sign off technical reports and deliverables. • Mentor and develop ecologists across all levels of the team. • Scope, design, and lead ecological surveys and projects. • Build strong, lasting client relationships and grow your portfolio, winning work for yourself and the wider team.
