Multigres Engineer

• Join Supabase as a Multigres Engineer, working fully remotely from anywhere in the world. • Help build the future of distributed Postgres with Multigres, Supabase’s open-source distributed database. • Bring horizontal scaling to Postgres through sharding, consensus and materialisation systems. • Architect and implement critical distributed database infrastructure. • Work closely with Supabase’s Postgres, networking and infrastructure teams. • Collaborate with the open-source community on Multigres.

• Bring deep technical expertise in distributed databases and systems. • Know database sharding, relational algebra and Postgres internals. • Understand consensus protocols such as Raft, Paxos or FlexPaxos and distributed transactions. • Show experience with stream processing, materialisation and change data capture. • Build robust, performant distributed systems with strong observability. • Optimise low-latency infrastructure and network protocols.

• Bring open-source contributions to database or distributed systems projects. • Show experience with Vitess or other sharding systems. • Bring experience building connection pooling infrastructure. • Show experience with workload isolation in multi-tenant databases.

• Design and implement query routing for sharded databases. • Build consensus and replication systems for distributed durability. • Develop materialisation pipelines for migrations and change data capture. • Contribute to connection pooling and intelligent workload isolation. • Collaborate with the open-source community on Multigres development.
