About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Cloudflare as a Senior Software Engineer, AI & Infrastructure Planning, working hybrid from London. • Build an auditable multi-agent system on Cloudflare's platform that replaces notebooks and email threads with agent-driven workflows. • Turn forecasts, supply plans, cost models and workflow approvals into agent workflows that planners and executives rely on for decision analysis. • Help Cloudflare build, deploy and operate one of the world's largest distributed networks. • Work closely with capacity planning, networking and data centre engineering teams to shape how agents support critical infrastructure decisions. • Use the Cloudflare Workers ecosystem to build production-grade AI systems, including Durable Objects, Workflows and Workers AI.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring senior-level software engineering experience, including security-conscious production systems you can point to such as repos, releases or services you operated. • Show strong TypeScript skills and confidence building on serverless or edge runtimes, covering HTTP APIs, async, queues and performance. • Use LLMs and agents in practice, including tool calling, structured output, multi-step or multi-agent orchestration, and prompt and eval iteration. • Know durable state and workflow tools such as Durable Objects, Cloudflare Workflows, or equivalents like Step Functions. • Demonstrate experience in infrastructure planning, such as capacity planning, forecasting, networking, CDN, or cloud or data centre capacity. • Apply solid data skills, including SQL, a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred), and working knowledge of forecasting and statistical modelling. • Write clearly, producing specs, RFCs and explanations that planners and executives can use.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring a data science or ML background, such as time series, optimisation or predictive modelling, plus Python for scientific computing. • Use Hono, Zod, OpenAPI and a modern frontend framework such as Astro or React. • Know peering, BGP, ASN and IX data, backbone or transit planning, or colo, power and procurement planning. • Use agent frameworks such as LangGraph, Autogen or A2A, and know what to borrow and what to discard. • Apply CI/CD and infrastructure as code with tools like GitLab CI and Terraform.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Collaborate with capacity planning, networking and data centre engineering teams to turn domain expertise into structured specifications, data contracts and agent capabilities. • Architect, deploy and maintain scalable production agents and durable workflows on the Cloudflare Workers ecosystem, including Durable Objects, Workflows, D1, R2, Queues, Vectorize, Workers AI and AI Gateway. • Translate forecasting, supply planning, cost modelling, narrative documentation and executive approvals into automated LLM-based or deterministic agent workflows. • Implement risk tiering, formal approval checkpoints, detailed audit logs and execution lineage to keep autonomous operations safe. • Incorporate predictive statistical and machine learning models into agent systems, with robust BigQuery data pipelines, optimised access patterns and continuous monitoring. • Author technical specifications and RFCs, and perform peer design reviews. • Establish architectural standards for AI agent deployment across the organisation.

About Cloudflare

📊 Cloudflare at a glance

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

We have used Cloudflare products ourselves, including Turnstile to protect apps from bots, so we know first-hand how solid their tech is, and that matters when you are thinking about where to work. With over $2.1 billion in annual revenue, 34% growth in Q4 2025, and $4 billion+ in cash reserves, Cloudflare is financially rock-solid and still growing fast. They operate one of the largest networks in the world, sit in front of roughly one in five websites, and are pushing hard into AI infrastructure and the agentic web. The scale of what they do is genuinely impressive; so many of the apps and services you use every day depend on Cloudflare without you even knowing it. Across Glassdoor, employees consistently highlight the great products, friendly and smart colleagues, positive working environment, and genuine flexible hybrid and work-from-home arrangements. They also offer unlimited paid time off and have a real focus on diversity and inclusion. We should be upfront, though: the Glassdoor rating sits at 3.4, and reviews are mixed. While the culture and people are widely praised, compensation competitiveness and slow promotion processes are recurring pain points. However, if you want to solve hard, Internet-scale problems at a company whose products you probably already rely on, Cloudflare is a brilliant place to do that.

😃 What Cloudflare offers

• Work hybrid from Cloudflare's London office. • Share in company success through eligibility for Cloudflare's equity plan. • Take flexible paid time off covering holiday and sick leave. • Use leave programmes including parental, pregnancy health, medical and bereavement leave. • Access health benefits and on-demand mental health support, with the listed benefits described for US employees and varying by location. • Benefit from fertility and family-forming support and an Employee Stock Participation Plan, as described for US employees.
