Software Engineer (DevOps) - Observability Platform

• Create a platform that continuously monitors thousands of applications, databases, and other systems. • Deliver a product solution Revolut’s engineering teams rely on for crucial information about logging, metrics, and tracing. • Make sure applications can be continuously optimised and incidents solved quickly. • Reduce friction across onboarding, normal usage, and sunsetting of components. • Join a Technology team that builds the systems and experiences keeping Revolut moving, from app infrastructure to features used by millions. • Contribute to the strategic roadmap of the observability platform. • Work remotely from the UK, or from the London office, with the role also open across Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and the UAE.

• Bring 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, including 3+ years focused on observability platforms or highly distributed systems. • Bring familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and incident response best practices. • Bring expertise designing and implementing APIs and data pipelines for high-throughput, real-time ingestion. • Bring a practical understanding of distributed systems and their particular observability challenges. • Work hands-on with core observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, the ELK stack, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry. • Bring experience with containerisation and orchestration through Docker and Kubernetes. • Bring experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible and Terraform. • Work proficiently in Python as your primary engineering language.

• Bring previous experience in a DevOps, SRE, or developer experience role. • Bring experience with multiple cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, and Azure, and their native observability services. • Bring contributions to open-source observability projects. • Show a track record of prototyping and sketching new solutions to complex problems. • Bring experience building tooling that automates component onboarding and sunsetting. • Bring experience optimising infrastructure for cost as well as performance.

• Design, implement, and assemble scalable, resilient observability solutions across logs, metrics, and traces, using existing market solutions or building from scratch. • Build robust APIs and data pipelines that ingest, process, and expose observability data to product teams. • Collaborate closely with product teams to understand their observability needs and integrate solutions that let them monitor, alert, and debug effectively. • Optimise the observability infrastructure for performance, accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and user experience. • Develop and maintain tooling that automates onboarding and sunsetting of components and streamlines data collection. • Contribute to the platform roadmap, identifying and implementing new features and improvements.
