Vehicle Operations Specialist

• Join Octopus Electric Vehicles’ Vehicle Operations team as a Vehicle Operations Specialist, working remotely from the UK. • Manage the performance and costs of the hire vehicle portfolio within the Downtime team. • Support operational reporting and process improvement across Vehicle Operations. • Make sure hire vehicles are managed well and recovery opportunities are followed through. • Use data, technology and AI to build more effective, scalable processes. • Help a fast-growing EV leasing company decarbonise driving.

• Bring commercial awareness and understand how operational decisions affect cost. • Work confidently with data, spot trends and turn insights into actions. • Build and maintain trackers, reports and dashboards in Excel and Google Sheets. • Give constructive feedback and hold colleagues accountable while keeping strong relationships. • Improve existing processes to make them more efficient and scalable. • Learn new systems quickly and stay curious about technology. • Understand the basics of automotive repair and service processes.

• Bring experience using AI or automation tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot to improve reporting or productivity. • Show experience in fleet management, vehicle leasing or hire operations. • Bring experience tracking cost recovery with manufacturers, dealerships or partners. • Show experience automating manual reporting.

• Keep oversight of hire vehicles across active cases, including duration, cost, extensions and repair timelines. • Identify aged, high-cost or unusual cases and help reduce avoidable spend. • Track recovery opportunities and outstanding contributions from manufacturers, dealerships and partners. • Analyse operational data to find trends, risks and improvement opportunities. • Build and improve trackers, reports and dashboards, automating where possible. • Give feedback to Vehicle Operations Specialists where processes aren’t followed. • Redesign workflows and introduce better controls and reporting. • Contact dealerships and repairers when needed to resolve repair delays.
