Tech Lead

• Join Nearform’s Engineering team as a Tech Lead in a permanent, full-time remote role for those based in the UK. • Lead and guide development teams while working directly with enterprise clients. • Turn business and technical requirements into impactful, high-quality applications. • Provide both technical leadership and line management to your team. • Shape architectural decisions for scalability, security and maintainability. • Work flexibly around what matters to you, including the school run.

• Bring significant software engineering experience as a Senior Engineer leading projects or as a Technical Lead. • Work with JavaScript, Python or Go, ideally. • Show experience working directly with clients or customers to understand technical requirements. • Bring experience leading engineering teams through delivery, via line management or mentoring. • Understand agile ways of working, best practices and design patterns deeply. • Apply test-driven development and testing best practices. • Use version control tools such as Git confidently. • Understand DevOps practices and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP. • Understand operational concerns such as monitoring, performance, security, accessibility and GDPR. • Bring empathy and strong people skills.

• Bring experience in a consultancy or client-facing engineering role. • Show experience with formal line management of engineers. • Bring experience delivering AI-enabled products or platforms. • Show experience working across distributed, multi-country teams.

• Provide technical and line-management leadership to your development team. • Take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects. • Identify and resolve blockers before they become issues. • Uphold best practices in software development, DevOps and agile within the team. • Work with clients to turn requirements into technical briefs. • Shape architectural decisions for scalable, secure and maintainable systems. • Update client and Nearform leadership on project status to support good decisions.
