Senior Software Engineer - Engineering Workflow and CI

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Act as a force-multiplier for Firefox developers, improving the workflows, tooling, and CI systems that help engineers develop, build, test, and ship Mozilla's core products every day. • Reduce time spent on testing and debugging test failures, and drive more integration and automation across development workflows. • Build dashboards, analyse data, and identify trends in Firefox development workflow to surface actionable insights for developers and managers. • Mentor team members and collaborate across geographically distributed teams by providing code review and technical direction. • Work fully remotely from the UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, or Belgium.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring proven Python skills including building services, and front-end development experience with JavaScript proficiency. • Bring experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django, and cloud services such as GCP or AWS. • Bring experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI, and familiarity with test harnesses. • Bring a solid understanding of databases and SQL. • Show comfort working cross-platform, with familiarity across at least two of: Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring a deep understanding of version control systems. • Bring experience with containerisation and continuous delivery, particularly using Docker. • Bring experience with CI at large-scale project level. • Bring comfort with data analysis and building data-driven dashboards.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Improve Firefox development workflows to reduce time spent testing, debugging test failures, and managing integration overhead. • Build and maintain internal applications that developers and managers use daily to develop, build, test, and deliver Firefox. • Look at data, build dashboards, and identify trends in Firefox development workflows to drive continuous improvement. • Mentor other team members and collaborate with other teams through code review and technical direction. • Work cross-functionally with a geographically distributed development team, contributing to open source workflows.
