💼 What you will do

• Lead the planning and production of Monzo's key prudential deliverables and ensure Financial Risk continues to be managed within risk appetite across the group. • Own the annual group ICAAP process, recovery planning, and Resolution Assessment Framework requirements in a senior finance role with impact across multiple collectives and disciplines. • Apply your prudential regulatory experience to a fast-growing new bank expanding across products and into Europe. • Work remotely from anywhere in the UK or from Monzo's London or Cardiff offices, with flexible working hours.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have proven prudential regulatory experience at either a bank, a consultancy, or a regulatory body. • Hold a relevant professional qualification. • Have detailed knowledge and experience of the relevant regulatory requirements, with the ability to interpret what that means for the relatively unique circumstances of a new bank. • Be comfortable understanding financial projections and analysis techniques linked to the quantification of risk. • Have the ability to coordinate, participate in, and lead projects to produce regulatory deliverables and maintain prudential documentation and supporting materials. • Be interested in identifying relevant data, performing analysis, and understanding the impact on the bank. • Be able to work independently, proactively, and enjoy a dynamic and changing environment. • Be keen to learn about and work on areas of the regulatory regime you may not have previously explored, particularly in the context of a new bank. • Have experience building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the business. • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Have specific expertise covering ICAAP and recovery and resolution planning. • Bring experience with the Resolution Assessment Framework including OCIR, VIR, and COA requirements. • Have experience supporting capital planning activities, risk appetite setting, and ALCO reporting. • Bring a solid understanding of non-financial risk alongside financial risk expertise. • Have experience leading and developing a high-performing team in a prudential risk or financial risk function.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the annual group ICAAP process, ensuring it is delivered on time and aligned to internal and external requirements, with appropriate assessment of individual entity risks. • Own the annual review of the recovery plan, ensuring it aligns to regulatory requirements and reflects the evolving nature of the group, with recovery options owned by business areas and fire drills undertaken. • Ensure requirements linked to the Group's evolving resolution strategy are implemented and comply with Resolution Assessment Framework requirements including OCIR, VIR, and COA. • Support capital planning activities, risk appetite setting, and lead ALCO reporting and KRI maintenance for Financial Risk. • Ensure the impact of future prudential regulatory change is understood and work with relevant teams to assess and adapt to challenges. • Support the broader financial risk team with the delivery of wider objectives. • Lead a team of high-performing colleagues, supporting their individual development needs and ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear.
