Senior Systems Engineer

• Join Moneybox, the award-winning UK wealth management platform, in a hybrid role in its London Tech Ops Engineering team. • Operate the cloud-hosted services that power Moneybox’s live platform on Azure. • Design and deliver platform capabilities, drive operational excellence and support the live service. • Lead technical direction within the team across solution architecture and hands-on engineering. • Give engineering squads the infrastructure patterns, IaC and guardrails they need to work independently. • Work in a team that is actively embracing AI in how it builds and operates systems. • Visit the London office by the Oxo Tower 2 days a week.

• Hold a degree in Computer Science or bring equivalent relevant experience. • Show a proven track record in a similar systems or platform engineering role. • Bring a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure. • Maintain infrastructure as code confidently using Terraform. • Understand web application security using tools such as Cloudflare. • Understand web and API scalability, performance and distributed systems. • Build and maintain release pipelines in tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a live cloud environment. • Lead incident response under pressure and make sound decisions with incomplete information. • Favour simple, pragmatic solutions and avoid over-engineering. • Be based in the UK and work from the London office 2 days a week.

• Bring hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including AKS, App Services, Service Bus and CosmosDB. • Show experience or enthusiasm for using AI in systems engineering and operations. • Bring experience with Datadog monitoring and alerting. • Show experience with FinOps practices such as tagging, budgeting and cost allocation. • Bring familiarity with C# and .NET applications.

• Lead the design, build and operation of cloud infrastructure, platform services and ops tooling. • Own and evolve high-signal monitoring and alerting across production systems. • Lead incident response, coordinate across teams and run thorough post-incident reviews. • Resolve complex issues across application, infrastructure, data and networking layers with durable fixes. • Maintain and champion Terraform so environments stay reproducible, auditable and version-controlled. • Improve CI/CD pipelines to increase engineering speed while keeping deployments safe. • Manage cloud capacity and cost, and contribute to FinOps practices. • Implement security controls covering network segmentation, access management, secrets and patching. • Support audit and governance processes with evidence and documentation. • Automate operational toil and contribute to production-readiness standards. • Coach and mentor teammates through pairing, code review and documentation.
