About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Civo's AI and ML team to build and maintain cloud-based machine learning services, improving existing products like Kubeflow as a Service and working on new "machine learning as a service" offerings like Civo Vision. • Develop scalable, efficient code for the Machine Learning components of the Civo Cloud Platform using Golang. • Work in a fully remote, international team building the best Kubernetes-first, innovative virtualisation platform with a four-day work week.

📋 Job Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or proven related professional experience. • Bring 4+ years of professional experience developing software, preferably in Go. • Have proven experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. • Demonstrate proven experience deploying Machine Learning solutions. • Have experience developing Kubernetes Operators. • Bring experience with API design and development principles including RESTful APIs. • Communicate strongly in both written and verbal form.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience working in asynchronous agile software teams. • Bring experience building and training Machine Learning Models. • Show experience building applications using WebSockets. • Hold 2+ years of experience in Python or R. • Demonstrate familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems. • Have experience with web development frameworks such as Gorilla, Gin, or Echo. • Bring experience working in fully remote organisations.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, efficient code for the Machine Learning components of the Civo Cloud Platform using Golang. • Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through comprehensive testing and optimisation. • Utilise concurrency patterns including goroutines and channels to optimise performance. • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Improve team performance through refactoring, optimising, and improving documentation of code and applying best practices. • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative environment. • Stay up to date with the latest Go language trends, libraries, and tools. • Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues.
