Posted on 15 October 2026New

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Wayve’s Program Management team as Lead Technical Program Manager for AI Platform, working hybrid from London. • Build and lead the TPM function supporting the organisation behind Wayve’s data, compute, training and inference infrastructure. • Shape how quickly Wayve develops and ships models, how efficiently it uses compute and how well models perform on the vehicle. • Coach a small, high-impact TPM team and act as a trusted delivery partner to engineering leadership. • Lead flagship programmes across developer tooling, training technology, compute management and embedded inference optimisation. • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous challenges without slowing delivery.

📋 Job Requirements

• Bring 8+ years of hands-on technical programme management across platform, infrastructure, compute, ML infrastructure or developer tooling. • Show experience building or scaling a programme function and leading people and processes. • Build, coach and grow high-performing teams, and hire to strengthen them. • Understand machine learning, GPUs, and training and inference for models from 500M to 20B+ parameters. • Bring embedded or on-vehicle systems experience, including inference optimisation and deploying models to constrained edge compute. • Know compute management and ML platform tooling such as Kubernetes, Ray, Flyte, Docker, Azure and Python. • Use AI agents and coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude or Codex to accelerate execution. • Think in systems and understand how changes in one part of a platform stack affect others. • Influence ML, research, infrastructure and embedded teams without relying on formal authority. • Connect technical investment to measurable outcomes such as developer velocity, compute efficiency, cost and model performance.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Bring experience with a large-scale ML or compute platform used by hundreds of engineers and researchers. • Show experience with embedded or edge inference, on-device model optimisation or hardware-aware ML. • Bring experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics or another large-scale ML and infrastructure environment. • Hold an engineering or computer science degree, or bring experience working as an engineer.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Build and scale the TPM function for AI Platform, hiring to fill capability gaps. • Own planning, prioritisation and execution across the AI Platform roadmap with engineering leadership. • Lead flagship programmes across data and compute infrastructure, developer tooling, training technology and inference optimisation. • Establish planning cadences, governance, escalation paths and operational practices that scale. • Manage dependencies, surface risks and remove blockers across ML, infrastructure, embedded, cloud and vendor teams. • Use KPIs, dashboards and operational reviews to spot bottlenecks and steer decisions. • Drive measurable gains in developer velocity, compute efficiency and cost, model performance and platform reliability. • Represent AI Platform in company-level reviews and connect delivery to business impact.

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

Wayve is one of the most exciting AI companies in the UK right now. They are tackling one of the hardest problems in technology, teaching machines to drive, and they are doing it with an approach that the rest of the industry is now converging towards. Backed by SoftBank, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Uber, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Stellantis, Wayve has raised $2.8 billion in total funding and reached a valuation of $8.6 billion. With over 1,000 employees across London, Silicon Valley, Vancouver, Leonberg, Herzliya, and Tokyo, Wayve is scaling fast while keeping its London HQ at the centre. What stands out on Glassdoor (4.4/5 from 112+ reviews) is how consistently employees praise the culture, the calibre of colleagues, and the quality of the technical work. People describe it as some of the most interesting work of their careers. Wayve also offers an on-site chef, private healthcare, competitive pay with equity, and a genuine learning environment where you work alongside world-class ML researchers and engineers. That said, some reviews flag that the pace can be intense and that working across global time zones can stretch working hours. If you are an engineer, researcher, or operator who wants to work on genuinely frontier technology with real-world impact, and you thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments, Wayve is a rare opportunity.
