Security Engineer, Detection Response

• Join the Detection Response team and take responsibility for Vercel's internal Corporate Security posture. • Monitor for security anomalies, build additional detections and visibility mechanisms, and keep internal systems secure. • Work closely with teams across the company to support audits, optimise visibility, and handle security incidents as they arise. • Act as a guardian who enables the business to navigate risk-based changes. • Work from the London, Berlin, New York, or San Francisco office on anchor days Monday, Tuesday, and Friday if you live within commuting distance, or fully remotely if you are further away.

• Bring extensive experience in security operations, including SIEM management, security logging, and detection engineering. • Know AWS infrastructure and cloud security best practices strongly. • Have experience with GitHub administration and security controls. • Be proficient in SQL for data analysis and security investigations. • Have hands-on incident response experience covering detection, triage, and remediation. • Bring strong endpoint management skills across Mac, Windows, and Linux. • Be proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash, and one compiled language such as Rust or Go.

• Be familiar with serverless functions and API security. • Have worked with managed SOC providers and security automation platforms. • Have worked in high-growth, cloud-native environments focused on scalability. • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Monitor and respond to security alerts across multiple channels, including managed SOC escalations. • Maintain visibility and logging infrastructure, keeping SIEM operations effective. • Support security audits for PCI, SOC 2, ISO, and other compliance frameworks, gathering evidence and collaborating with Engineering, GRC, and the wider Security Division. • Proactively enhance security operations by developing and deploying new detections and security tooling, and rigorously managing key security partners. • Work on security investigations, incidents, and urgent requests as they arise. • Contribute to the build-out and continuous improvement of the on-call process. • Manage and enhance email security, endpoint security posture across EDR, configuration, and management, GitHub administration best practices, and internal security tooling to strengthen Vercel's overall security framework.
